Beauty

Being near you
Every day
Always in your arms
Underneath a starry sky
Together
You and I

Bringing back

Each memory
All the things I see
Underneath a sunny sky
Together
You and I

Loving you is all that I know
Only this I can be
Very deeply in love with you
Endless times will see

Been a friend
Each time I need
A place to lay my head
Underneath a dewy eve
Together
You and I

Because of His Father's Will

Down and over to the right place go
Calling softly His name
Until my mind, my heart, my will
And His become the same

In this place of calm serene
In Heavenly Places blessed
In His Holy Presence bow
And all my sins addressed

Carried there on this river of tears
Sailing on the wings of Love
Washing, cleansing this restless soul
And taken to His Throne above

My, oh my is all I say
What rushes over me
In His Holy Presence bow
My eyes to clearly see

Blood that flowed into my heart
From the Cross upon a hill
And rise to life eternally
Because of His Father's Will

Because

Lying here I find sweet Hope
Inside your peace to rest
Fore though my soul is crossing ore
To face life’s final test

Yes to this place I’ve come
That I shall see your face
When I shall to my longhome go
Down here to end this race

Never could be said by man
How passing to Your Hands
Can move to fill my soul’s desire
Sometimes who understands

Yet this Hope remains for all
Who once will rise to stand
Accept the life you freely give
Is all that you demand

And when life’s ending days
And time shall cease to be
We will know life has begun
Because of Calvary

Before His Face

My I’ve been so busy today
Can’t seem to get anything done
Running here and there and everywhere
This life is not so much fun

Round and round in circles everyday
No time to sit and relax
It’s not how I want to be
But it is just the facts

Work to do kids and friends
Just never is enough
Time in one single day
To finish with all this stuff

Then His Voice speaks oft to me
This troubling in my heart stir
The thing I now miss the most
And the thing I should not defer

So now I’ll stop and take the time
To feel His Warm Embrace
And thank Him for His Blessings give
As I bow before His Face

Behind the Mirror

Can I look beyond what I see
In this mirror looking back at me
Is this truly what I want to be
Do my heart and eyes agree
One for others’ eyes to see
Is this truly what I want to be

So can I turn the mirror behind
And see what lies within my mind
Would what I see then be unkind
If I knew what I would find
Is truth the thing I want to bind
Or should by choice leave eyes blind

But in all this stay face to face
To find in life where is my place
For this truth I must embrace
Else be left behind without a trace
In all I do to run this race
Guided by Love’s Amazing Grace

Believing in the Bridge

Wonder filled my mind as I walked closer
The river seemed angry and black
It seemed I had no choice but to continue
Even though I tried to turn back

Was it fear that kept clouding my vision
For I had known all my life of this day
But now walking to this dark river
I could not find words to say

As I stepped toward these dark waters
My feet were lifted upon
The steps of a bridge crossing over
‘Til passing this river was done

I was told of that bridge crossing over
Of the river of death I would face
By the words of those gone before me
And confirmed for all human race

Tho crossing deaths’ river can be haunting
For He said if only thou wilt
There is hope sent through Gods’ Son
Believing in the bridge that He built

Better Off

My Hands are better off in His Hands

My feet are better off in His Footsteps

My ears are better off hearing His Word

My nose is better off smelling the sweet savor of His Grace

My eyes are better off seeing the Hope He sees

My heart is better off broken so He can fix it right

Birthplace Zion

Where are you from they ask of me
I hesitate not to reply
For I recall what I used to be
But that used to be did die

In death beneath a Cross I lay
All that my life was before
Then calmly rise to really live
Peace found forevermore

And even though in earthly birth
When ask this thing to write
Is hard not to shout about
The place I made things right

My oh my to truly know
What Christ had done for man
Is more than tongue or pen can tell
To say it again and again

If at His Cross you have found
Then you know that I’m not lying
If they ask the place I was born
I say my birthplace is Zion

Boards

A few more boards in my bridge of life
That I need to step upon
And step to my resting-place
And these days here be done

Looking back now to count these boards
That this time did bring
And wonder at each purpose of
Each one a song to sing

Was upon these boards of life
That I became a man
And it came step by step
When I did those things I can

These boards placed one by one
Before me as I walk
Friends who stood for me in life
Of them I now can talk

Thanking God from who did send
Each friend became a board
That I could cross this bridge of life
Built by my Precious Lord

Born to Save

Had it not been for a place called Mt. Calvary
Had it not been for the Old Rugged Cross
I’ve heard these words sang and preached
For endless years without loss

And yet I have to remember a time
In a manger in Bethlehem town
Where a mother gave birth to a special child
Who’d later his life lay down

At the time it was simple enough
Not yet fully understood
What was to take place in years ahead
To bring the world so much good

And now again it’s that time of year
Though we remember He rose from the grave
This child who grew into a man
From the cradle was born to save

Breeze of His Word

Blowing softly now it passes by my heart
A soothing calming wave
Just in time of my great need
From confusion now to save

My heart as a ship tossed in a storm
Dashing like pounding rain
As lightning flash and thunder roll
Tossing my heart once again

Yes the Son shall rise again
When once this storm is past
For all in life that comes against
Its journey will not last

Though the heart in valleys deep
Is cast without a care
Yet One who stands to speak a word
Will always meet you there

Lift up now that heart cast down
Your pain begin to depart
When spoken now you can feel
The breeze of His Word on your heart

Brook

Roll away as a brook across pebbles
Cooling waters to pass over and continue on
Softly tickling the bottom with softness
Oh brook tell me are you ever alone

Sometimes I thought to envy your path
Tell where does it lead in dark of night
I may have looked but I can’t tell
Is it that can be seen only in light

My how oft would have sought your way
Was time the thing that then would stop
Now with years that slowly slip by
Is this venture my heart should drop

Brook tell me of the secrets of life
Has God revealed His Secrets to you
Do you take time to count your rounds
If finding is mine then that would I do

Well brook this wonder for me
He made you to flow and return again
There are places I know that I must go
My searching now is that I might know when
