Daddy Read to Me

Where oh where has my little dog gone
Words I oft heard him say
Bring me your little toes here
And we’ll find him today

Round and round the mulberry bush
Little feet come here and play
I promise not to tickle you
You can trust me today

Sing a song of sixpence now
Strumming the old guitar
If you’ll list my tune for awhile
I’ll take you a ride in my car

Mary Mack all dressed in black
Cat ran away with the spoon
Memories of my childhood days
Yet they passed too soon

Knick knack a paddy-whack
Come sit upon my knee
Often now I still recall
As daddy read to me

Dancing with the devil

Round and round your life will go
Spinning to out of control
To take away your hope complete
And rob you of your soul

This dance will slowly rob your mind
Of your thoughts to live
Will only continue to take and take
And nothing to you give

Dancing with the devil is death
And playing in his backyard
Only brings a persons soul
To a life cruel and hard

Pain and sorrow can’t be stopped
While dancing on this floor
No help for your broken life
But yet there is a Door

For God sent His only Son
To turn your life about
For using faith is the key
And through the door walk out

Days

Today is calm with bright sunshine
Gentle breeze from the Great I Am
Oh with peace and joy untold
Yes this day is like a lamb

But yesterday this storm did roll
And cover me with care
It came with such ferocity
Like a raging angry bear

Even more the day before
Which put my soul to crying
For in the things it brought to me
Was like a roaring lion

Tomorrow maybe the thing I face
On him I’ll be reliant
For as a warrior going forth
It just might be a giant

This one thing I surely know
That He knows all my ways
No matter what is in store
He keeps me all my days

Dear Child of Mine

Dear child of mine so much of me
In ways you do not know
Yet you shall come to understand
When these things God doth show.

The chance, the time to start a new
Is knocking at your door
It’s calling softly out your name
Open up, let me do more.

In all things Christ will be with you
Your life he longs to lead
To guide each and every path
To bless in all your need.

My time, my love, I give to you
With all that’s in my heart
To do the things that I can do
Tho for now we’re far apart.

Yet things in life are up to you
Choose wisely with your time
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU
Rebecca, dear child of mine.

Dear Heart

Dear Heart,

It has been awhile since I talked with you, so I thought I would write you a few lines. I haven’t been able to contact you any other way. It is like you are hiding from me. I wanted to let you know that nothing has changed in our relationship. I love you just as much as I ever did. I miss the times we spent talking together; the laughter and the tears. It didn’t matter because I enjoyed them all.

I have tried to contact you through your family and friends. When they talk to me, they say they are concerned about you. They love you very much too.

You may think it is me that has gone away, but I would never leave you. Remember when your children were sick, I was there. There were lots of other times when I saw you crying, I tried to get your attention but your mind was on other things.

I hope you read this letter and respond. If not, I will continue to try and contact you any way I can.

Love forever and always,
Your Heavenly Father

Despair

What is this place I see?
When others I know go before
Someone said their hope was gone
Caught in the valley of despair

Spiraling downward with nothing to stop
Is there no one to care?
I am left alone in this place
I heard its name called despair

I would search ‘til the end of time
If only I could know where
It seems the only place I know
Down deep in the valley of despair

The signs were out from others I’d seen
The warning said all should beware
And stay far away from here
This wretched place called despair

But even in this valley so low
I found someone walking there
He was the Son of the Living God
Who delivers from the valley of despair

Diamond

Diamonds I said are beautiful
Yes I look and see its shining
Over and over to remain for view
Covered only by a brightness lining

Oh but to say again is what you are
That diamond in the dark of night
That should glow in love for all
And opening hearts to light

Shine on diamond of my world
And still for others too
Bring your brightness truth to show
What they can know of you

Oh Lord is you that's shining still
And will forever be
In our lives hope to live
Life's diamond we can see

Did I Stop to Thank God

I said that I feel so good
Things worked out well for me
My life is going oh so nice
In every way I see.

It seems as nothing can go wrong
All things just turn out right
The sunlight is so bright each day
The moon glows strong at night.

My friends all like to be with me
I’ve countless of them you know
The road goes so straight for me
Everyplace that I go.

When I rejoice in all these things
This thought it seems so odd
When all these were going well
Did I stop to thank God?

Does Yesterday Belong to Today?

When I thought of yesterday
It only brought me pain
For today is full of sunshine
And yesterday was rain.

I venture yet to wonder why
I should think upon the past
Of things that have brought me pain
Those things will never last.

For yesterday has left behind
All that it could bring
Whether it was good or bad
Today means not a thing.

For yesterday is in the grave
Buried in what is past
And hopefully not to rise again
Upon my soul to cast.

Oh yesterday, oh yesterday
I’m glad that you are gone
For I found in yesterday
Was a time I felt alone.

Don't Forget That

When you see the flowers bloom on dew upon the grass at daybreak or felt a spring breeze blow across your face and through your hair to move on to another place. To tickle the leaves upon a tree or rustle them upon the ground. When you see a mother cover her children or the shadow of a tree cover someone from the heat of the sun. When you see a father shedding tears of joy for a child’s accomplishment, No matter how small. When you feel as if someone is there in your times of doubt or fear. For it is the love I have for you that you see or feel; a Fathers love for his child. Don’t forget that.

Don't Lose the Moment

This is the thing that I must keep
I will put in a guarded place
No one will take it away
Then anytime I can embrace

Was precious this thing we had
And never should I lose
For now I can return to look
Anytime that I choose

Though this was but a moment of time
It was first ever we met
My heart was led captive away
And kept without regret

Oh moment of love a gift from God
Was sent to me on that day
To be displayed in memories’ room
And recalled without delay

So should a time upon you come
That’s sent from God above
Hold fast and sure for yourself
Don’t lose the moment of love

Dream #1

If I had the dream of dreams
And knew it would come true
Would it be of grass so green?
Or of the morning dew.

Would it be a meadow’s wall?
Blowing softly in the wind
Or would it be a river’s bank
Whose beauty has no end.

Would it be a house of gold?
Of riches great untold
Of daffodils and silver frills
Where life was never cold.

Would it be a place of joy?
Of happy laughs and songs
Where all was peace and harmony
And nothing would go wrong.

I know what is in my heart
To be dream number one
That all in this world could know
Jesus Christ, God’s Holy Son.

Dream #2

I know I can see your dreams
For I can feel them too
I’d like to share your moments
And be a help to you.

Though dreams are sometimes fantasy
Your dreams are a part of you
And if I can lend a hand
To make your dreams come true.

For without our dreams in life
There is no place to go
No reason for another day
No trumpets for us to blow.

So let’s not forget your dreams
We’ll keep them in our minds
We’ll talk of them til they come true
And out of dark our bright sun shines.

And if friends can share their dreams
Walk forward hand in hand
Our lives would be a happy place
And together we could stand.

Your dreams are really up to you
And if you let friends share
You’ll find those days of happiness
To know true friends that care.

Dream #3

I dreamed a dream as plain as day
It’s meaning seemed so clear
It told of what I could do
And things that were so near.

It told me that in everything
If only I would try
All dreams that I had in life
Would come true by and by.

This dream was not for silly games
But things to look towards
Of things that bring happiness
Of things that bring rewards.

This dream that I often dream
That is as plain as day
Is to share with everyone
A dream to show the way.

Dream Remain

A shattered dream on the waterfront
River’s face to look upon
And yet in all was found to be
‘Twas hope given by one

Why do dreams not live until
They’ve found a place to stay
Wherein abides the hope of man
And its fulfillment day

Sometimes it is funny yet
These dreams of mine I hold
Shall I let go to drift away
Before its life is told

Dream of dreams, dream of dreams
I linger in its way
In hope to meet it face to face
And in its time to stay

I should surely know this dream
Imprison it in my heart
And love you still until dying days
Not from this dream depart

Dream Revisited

I dreamed a dream as plain as day
It’s meaning seemed so clear
It told of what I could do
And things that were so near.

It told me that in everything
If only I would try
All dreams that I had in life
Would come true by and by.

This dream was not for silly games
But things to look towards
Of things that would bring happiness
Of things that bring rewards.

This dream of which I often dream
That is as plain as day
Is to share with everyone
A dream to show the way.

Dwell Inside His Will

A story I told, a song I sang
Would be heard again I said
For what will it profit to wait around?
Until this body is dead

Today is the day to work for the Lord
I must continue to pray
For I have chosen a labor of love
And I’ll begin today

When my eyes pass on to sleep
I’ll rise with the same intent
I’ll follow where my Lord shall lead
I’ll go where I am sent

A sacrifice I give to Him
Is all that I can do
And live my life beneath the cross
As each day becomes brand new

This is the thing I desire the most
To dwell inside His will
And show His Love to a sinful world
Each day of my life until
