Find Me Where I Am

Father I know not where I am
I have searched many places to find
I have asked others called friends
Even those of familiar blood
Yet none can tell the things I need to know
Is it you have gone for a time
Is there one more important than I
Shall I wait here longer until I know
It is not where I choose to be
For I cannot feel you
My heart is saddened by a searching mind
It is with you I desire to be
But yet it seems this cannot be
In this I know only to call for you
That you might find me where I am

Finding Love

Seeking, seeking in places unknown
Uncertain where paths do lead
Walking through the darkness of night
To find love my heart does need

Thinking, thinking each time is near
That I shall find what I want
In the things this world gives
In the end I find they don’t

Walking, walking down winding paths
That keep leading to nowhere
Day after day ending the same
Taken to hopeless despair

Crying, crying what is life
That it should be this way
I must find someone who knows
And heed what they have to say

Hearing, hearing words said before
Of a Loving Father above
Who sent His Son to die for my sins
In believing I’m finding Love

Flowers From a Past Life

Was there a time so near to me
When from the past they came
To remind me of a place of love
And know once again the feeling same

Oh yes do I recall the day
At first I saw them again
And brought with them the peace I knew
That pushed away the pain

I remembered how I placed them there
Upon the ground where I lay
The body of a life that passed
From death to a born again day

The flowers were the words of God
To go from death to life
When to accept the Lord inside
For an end to pain and strife

So now I’ll send them back to stay
And guard the grave of sin
Buried by the word of God
Never to be remembered again

Fly Away, Fly Away

Fly away, fly away
Thoughts that make me sad
I'd rather have the other ones
That make my heart feel glad
But is there a need for them
The thoughts that make me feel bad.

Fly away, fly away
Thoughts that make me sad
Do you come to haunt me
If I lose something I had
Won't you just leave me alone
And then my soul would be glad.

Fly away, fly away
Thoughts that make me sad
Is there a purpose in this life
For thoughts that make me feel bad
Are you guilt or shame I feel
Or something I might have said.

If you fly away, fly away
Thoughts that make me sad
Would you go to haunt someone else
About the troubles they had
Or would you fly away for good
And not make someone sad.

Fly away, fly away
Thoughts that make me sad
I found that when you fly away
It really doesn't feel so bad
For when i feel you fly away
It makes my heart feel glad.

Footsteps

We walked together thru the forest
In hopes of finding light
It seems we walked for miles and miles
In nothing but the night

From time to time it seemed to be
We heard someone else was near
And yet because of darkness deep
The noise brought only fear

If slowly, yet so slowly move
Cautiously as onward we go
In hopes to soon find a light
Just when we do not know

The sound of footsteps seem so close
From where we do not know
If only now the light would come
The footsteps to us could show

As the sun breaks thru the dark
A sigh falls over all
The peace we now can embrace
As the light begins to call

I see the footsteps clearly now
It was before us that they went
To lead us by their quiet sound
It was God’s Son He sent

For God is Love

I said it was I
But yet it was Him
For it was He that showed me
Love did not come by me
Oh but was freely given by Him
I knew not until I found Him
Yet it was He that found me
He sought for me and I was found
By Him alone I learned Love
Before I had an idea and tried
But then I truly knew
Yes is true for God is Love

For Jesus

My 5 year old grand-daughter, Shana, helped write this.

This my song is just for you
I’ll not make much fuss
But I’ve got to say this now
He loves me and I love Jesus

I know you’re special, special to me
Each day that I live
All the blessings you pass on
And your life for me did give

You know that I am five
Well Jesus how old are you
There are many things I want to ask
So answer my questions true

Is grandpa doing all right
Oh how I miss him so
He talked about you all the time
Until the day he went to you

And those awful kids next door
To them you give your love
Doesn’t really matter to you
They’re welcome to your home above

Well I need to go for now
But I’ll be back again
Watch over my family
Because I know you can

For Me the Best

I was watching the rain on this
Warm spring day
Carefully counting each raindrop
Upon green leaves to lay

They gently floated my mind away
To a time of love for me
When the time together for you and I
A place I long to be

Ah I recall these days of before
As a child I would play
I always loved when you called my name
Was that prayer time of day

Though sometimes I would not understand
When your love became correction
But yet recall was best through it all
In giving my life direction

Money or jewels to you can’t repay
What you put in my heart
Through failure and faults you stood with me
Your love to never depart

Now you’ve gone to be with our Lord
I know He’s glad to see
Your work here on earth left behind
Is His Love in me

I proudly stand to say you were mine
As parents that stood the test
God I know was showing his Love
He saved for me the best
