Keeper of Souls

Where is the place that we can hide
For cover from the storm
And safely kept within the walls
Will someone me inform

I heard of it in days before
But quickly pushed aside
To carry on my daily wants
And walk within my pride

Was then upon a day surprised
Without a time of warn
That death itself before me stood
My soul displayed to be torn

With desperate pleas to look around
And find a helping hand
Searching wildly in my mind
Cries of hopeless demand

And then recall what once I heard
As fear over me rolls
Taken softly into His Grace
By Jesus the Keeper of Souls

Knowing for Sure

Many times I has said I love you, but there was something different about this time. I felt for the first time in my life it was true. It's hard to explain, but I know there was a difference. Could it be that all these years it was just something I was supposed to say? Was it that I had taken advantage of the things you did for me or even taken for granted the love you had shown me? Time and again in my failures you were there. Too often I had forgotten to say thank you. I know now how you struggled with doing the right thing in every situation, even though it was not what I wanted.

Now as I look at the child my own that you hold in your arms, and see the twinkle in your eyes: I know for sure: Mom, Dad, I LOVE YOU

Knowing Hands

Laughter and tears to alike
Shed both from the same face
What a day may bring forth
A heart putting it into place

Can search or light reveal
What lies inside of a heart
When rising of the sun can be seen
And this a new day start

So tell me now if you should know
If a day is good or bad
I’ll wait for your answer true
Will I be happy or sad

No one can tell but He alone
With loving eyes to see
What lies ahead for you today
And how your life will be

So is better now to give
Your heart to Knowing Hands
Who’ll lead you safely through the day
And in all who understands
