No Place Like Home

Has a song found words to sing

To a heart that searching long

Was a story told gone wrong

And to its truth now ring

Ah but it will at all times stay

To remind me of a place to be

And the path that leads clearly see

Until I find its lasting day

Will never be a place of wrong

For is always true and straight

To guide you safely through Heaven’s Gate

Where all sing an amazing song

And once to find not again to roam

Yes I know in my heart I can feel

This place I have found is in God’s Will

I truly know there’s no place like home

Nobody Says Love Like You

Hearing words so often said
And feel sometimes is true
Though spoken in my life by friends
Nobody says love like you

When parting from our loved ones here
To do each thing we do
The words we speak so tenderly
Nobody says love like you

A valentine on a certain day
Given by sweethearts true
But yet in all the words upon
Nobody says love like you

It’s spoken in the wind that blows
As in the morning dew
Kindness shown by those around
Nobody says love like you

And so to my Lord above
This thing I’ll always do
Give thanks and praise in Jesus’ Name

Nobody says love like you

Nobody to Love

"It’s not good for you to just hang around this house all the time” she heard her daughter say. Her voice kind of brought her back down to reality. She just missed David so. She thought that it all seemed so unfair. Here she had spent the biggest part of her life…the biggest part of her life!!!!…42 years being his wife, taking care of him; cooking, cleaning, making sure his work clothes were ironed. He had been such a good husband, friend, and companion; now, it was all gone. How could this be? He was always in good health ; no problems with his heart.

“Did you hear me mother? You can’t live this way. “

“It’s like I don’t have anybody to love and take care of anymore. I mean I love all of you, but you have your own family and everything.”

“ You can love Jesus memaw” I heard my 3 year old granddaughter Shana say, in a voice that would melt the heart of a lion.

That was 3 months ago, and now standing here serving food to the homeless, she could only smile and thank God for that still small voice of her grandchild’s.

"Maybe I’ll start visiting the jails, she thought to herself, as a moment of boldness flashed in her mind. Yeah she thought…..that’s what I’ll do.”

Matthew 25:40

Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.

Not Before An Empty Throne

Ah I say to silly men
Who bow to their gods of gold
And wood and things made by man
But not the God of old

Who from the beginning created all
For man to benefit
But yet to replace our God
With things that can help a bit

Try, as man will do
To change our Holy King
With all man’s words and wit
Will never change a thing

Yes is laughable at best
The things that man would know
Of life and hope and happiness
In the places that they do go

For in passing from this life
And these days here are gone
I know in my life here on earth
I worship not before an empty throne

Not Just a Card

Words I did not take lightly
I can’t say again or explain
Yes better than a gift
For those things would fade away
Those words I read found a place
It is there they will stay
My heart has made room for them
I did not cry, but I felt like it
It meant much so I did smile
A sigh passed through my heart
Had you thought about such a response
But could not be better said
From child to parent in another place
I felt its words to be true
I knew the meaning of each word
This is not just a card
But Love that can be kept forever
In my heart it is
And there it shall stay
Great was its gift
No, more than just a card from you to me

Not the Same Without You

Words so wise given to a man
That he could speak a truthful line
Not taken apart by critics choice
Nor yet alone was mine

I’d heard it said by others past
When once one had gone
And taken a journey separately
To a place differently known

It still applied this phrase I heard
Whether death or another way
For parting seem to bring it out
As if for this kind of day

And this I’ve found for such a friend
If a parting we have to do
I’ll use these words that I have learned
It’s not the same without you
