Thanksgiving Day

I have seen the end of all things

Is good for His Will to be

The troubles of life that come

But beyond this we see

In His Hand is joy unspeakable

Yes full of Grace and glory

Waves may roar high above

And still to remember He told the story

The roaring lion may go about

To search and to seek to devour

But there is One who still sits on High

Who is in control each hour

Never seen the righteous forsaken

Nor his seed begging for bread

Will for sure meet every need

Because of the Words He said

A promise kept in best of time

No better place to walk in His Way

The sun may rise and then it may set

Every day starts a new Thanksgiving Day

The Scarlet Thread

A wounded heart broken without,within
What shall it take once to mend
Though over and over try once again
More time is needed and this we must spend

Searching a soul to find it all
To put back together no matter how small
Listening carefully for each piece call
Bringing it back from where it did fall

Patient, be patient and fix it just right
Restore as before this we just might
Working diligently into the night
Praying, oh praying bring hope into light

Now with all pieces taken into hand
Is there a way, is there a plan
Is there on which we can stand
If it is then this we demand

A Hand reaches down of what we read
For all things are possible has been said
Christ given promises lift up our head
A heart sewn together with a scarlet thread

The Seed

The seed fell softly upon the hardened ground and for a time lay still and quiet. Even when the sun came out and bore hard upon the seed it still remained. Then a gentle drop of rain touched the seed and it became alive. There was movement within the seed as the raindrops continued to fall from Heaven. The seed took root in the hardened soil as the soil began to soften and the roots carried the water deeper and deeper until the ground became soft and brought forth seed of its own. And such is the heart the hardened heart that has been touched by the seed of love.

The Story's Not Told

Ring a bell, sound an alarm
Let voices sing out true
Tell it; tell it so all can hear
How He died for me and you

From page to page is written down
Let’s read it loud and clear
To all heed the gospel call
His coming is drawing near

He spoke when all was said and done
And the last word we should hear
Reached the four corners of the earth
His coming is drawing near

Let us continue to cry aloud
The things once said of old
Until we hear the trumpet sound
To the last one the story’s not told

The Wedding Band

Around and around it goes
To a place where it began
And no matter how the path
It shall return again

Its days continue on
With no other path to go
This circle that it takes
Is all that it does know

God did make himself
This way intended to be
For His Love circles a life
For all eternity

For love that gives shall return
To be given again
Touching Love everyday
To the hearts of men

So to you now I give
This promise to always stand
In Gods Love together be
Part of this wedding band

The Wind Calls

Come here, come here
The wind did call
To say a word
For one and all

Let me show
This day I pray
Just where can be
A brighter day

He blows the trees
And pushes the cloud
Can’t you hear
He cries out loud

Can’t you see
In the things I do
How I your God
Made all of you

And so to look
For life begun
He gave to you
His only Son

These Tears That Brought Me Here

Shall I close the door on these tears that brought me here?
How could I forget what was resolved in my soul
Because of the sorrow that caused the tears that brought me here
When I saw what He had done before I had been born
As if He had known me back then
How could one love me that much before I knew Him?
Yet He welcomed me into this place
Where He wiped the tears that brought me here
Now these tears have changed into that of appreciation
From the same eyes that cried the tears that brought me here
Remove from me not the memory of those tears that brought me here
Could I forget the Love I felt when He changed
The color of my eyes from the blue of sorrow to the white of Joy
I shall remain forever in this Love I found because of
The tears that brought me here
So that is why I am thankful and shall never forget
These tears that brought me here.

Things He Can't Remember

There are things He can’t remember
But that is fine with me
For these things just bring me down
To a place I don’t want to be

Yes there are these things of past
Try to pull me from my goal
The higher places that I seek
And the peace here in my soul

He said the forgetting sea
Was where these memories go
And where this place exactly is
Is something I don’t need to know

So when they come creeping back
To my God I do defer
Because my sins will always be
The things He can’t remember

Things I Mean

I’m sorry
I need help
I am strong
I am weak
I have hope
I have fear
I need comfort
I need to hear you
I nedd to see you
Friends are good
Family is good
God is good
There’s nothing can be compared
Heaven is worth it all
There’s something I want to tell you
You’re my friend
He’s my Lord
I love you
I love Jesus
He loves you

The Important Minute

Would I give some of this for another thought?
Or share with uninvited wanderings
To give that which is ours to the waters
Carried away to else’s memories
To approach this time with care and planning
Knowing the things I should say or do
To share would be a lessening of meaning
Of what this truly should mean
As we pass words only for this time
You will know that it is yours and yours alone
I write with sincere of heart what I say
That a friend would know is true
I’ve given this important minute to you

This Love of Mine and Yours

I could never say you are old
A new day brings life again
For that which shall never be forgotten
Yes a time I remember when

Today seems the same as yesterday
In this thing I always recall
And I can know it now as then
Each dawn once again to call

And to this my heart shall cling
To never let it go
Nor even yet with folding hands
As if I did not know

Not once again for it never ceased
But stayed there all the time
And not replaced by empty thoughts
This love of yours and mine

Times may pass yet it remains
This love of yours and mine
No parting ways or sad good-byes
For this love of yours and mine

This Thing

This thing though to bring me down has only brought a greater awareness of my constant need for my God and Father. Truly I have failed but I am a winner because of the Blood He freely gave for my sins, then and now. He is able to cleanse me of all my sins. I acknowledge my weakness as a person and desire to know Him and the power of His Resurrection. Though I fall short of His Holiness, it is He working in me His Will. And even though sometimes it is painful, I realize I must be conformed to His Likeness. This I know is life and more abundantly. Therefore I more willingly submit myself to Him and His Judgement. I will use the faith He has given me to believe that He is working all things for my good. To Him I commit my life and my ways that He may order my footsteps and open His Hand and fill me with His Goodness. This and His mercy will follow me all the days of my life. In the end I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

This Time of Year

Here we go again this year

We must give hope and good cheer

Yes that time draws ever near

A time not for shedding a tear

I'll give a gift you'll do the same

Would I dare to think it is a game

If so now to hide my shame

If this the reason who is to blame

Is this the way we should behave

When to a cross Our Savior clave

To the end our soul to save

For fallen man His Life He gave

Alas the truth so plain to see

He did it all for you and me

That our lives like His would be

Pass from death and live eternally

Let us all unwrap His Gift so dear

As this season of joy draws near

Stand and proclaim without a fear

That each will be like this time of year

I opened His Gift to find His Love

And now I show it to you

Those Hands

Their hands felt so different
As though years of learning stood
And even the way they spoke to
Was with all wisdom’s good

Laughter springing so sincere
That said in all I love you
Not spoken then but known
Yes the things they would do

My childhood memories linger still
Of the house I loved to go
And spend soul filling hours
With those hands I grew to know

Time may pass to yesterday
But their love will always be
In my heart of Jesus taught
Shown to the light for us to see

Ending 1
They’ve moved on to a resting-place
But still in dreams I know I saw
Them in Heaven loving with
Those hands of Grandma and Grandpa

Ending 2
Nothing else in life replace
The blessed love I always saw
While growing up underneath
Those hands of Grandma and Grandpa

Thoughts of Home

Wouldn’t take long I said to myself
Going to a place my heart’s desire
In my memories draw my plans
Of its treasures I must inquire

Knowing now shall never be
Never again to be as then
But is a place of sweet remind
Each time I choose to go when

For younger days my mind replace
But those I’ll never forget
A special place they shall be kept
For those my fondest yet

For sure my strength in days of old
Those times in youth recall
Of school day morns and innocence
Still to love them all

Can a man return to young
As child again to win
Brought quietly without reply
With thoughts of home again

Yes those thoughts of brother and sis
Sweet days with mom and dad
Of friends and school, red rover play
With thoughts of home made glad

Though those days in memory replay
The only way to come again
Still winding down memories lane
Those thoughts of home have been

Times may change and lives move on
Days past may fall like rain
And all of life is said and done
My thoughts of home remain

Through All My Life

A smile just after a tear
A rainbow just after the rain
Sunshine after a dark night
As God has done it again

Yes promise after promise
To us always give
Joy comes in the morning
He died for all to live

I can because of Him
A Hope for man to stand
Before His Throne eternally
Prepared for us a Land

No more to feel the pain
Of life's uneven ways
And not to weep again
Through Grace given days

Now I bow to say His Name
Not just in time of need
Knowing in His Word He spoke
Through all my life to lead

Tickle Toes

Oh my what a little foot I see

Does this foot have eyes watching me

Can I walk up this foot to your knee

And cause you to laugh with glee

Just stick your foot out and show

This is the way I will know

That to your knee I will go

And promise to tickle you slow

Oh tickle toes don’t be mad

You know my tickling’s not bad

And if before you are sad

Then my tickling will make you glad

Oh I see what you mean

The best tickle toes I’ve ever seen

I’d like them still if they were green

And even more when they are clean

So now I’ll pull off your nose

And wet you down with a hose

Light your face until it glows

And tickle your little tickle toes

Til Heaven

Walk with me awhile I said to Him
For my journey is long
I have worries about this road I'm on
I don't want to go wrong

Hold my hand as we go along
That I'll know you're ever with me
Stay right here by my side
Until Your Holy Face I see

Let Your Spirit live within
A heart once full of sin
Refresh and restore a joy I need
A crown of life to win

Though life on this road gets rough
With You I have no fear
The one thing I desire the most
Is when You hold me near

The Blood you shed upon a cross
That makes the demons quake
Will wash and make me white as snow
Til Heaven my home I make

Time of Silence

I know I must go and there stand

I wish to hear what He has to say

I am persuaded of the power of His Words

I need to hear Him speak today

I have that permission to come and stand

Before this King that I now know

Though in awe I enter His presence

It is with joy to this place I go

If I should speak would be to praise

Say His Name time and time again

Yes as His mighty Voice to me resound

He whispers to me, welcome friend

His beauty more than life can tell

In all before Him I seen by me

Honored far beyond that of mortals

That here before Him I should be

And now He bids with open arms

That closer to Him I should stand

And hear Words from the Master Potter

Oh, my time of silence in His Hand

  Time for Words

Come here He said and We shall see
What it is required from thee
Can be told so simply
Of a death upon a tree
Yet this thing that had to be
Is the reason you can be free

Take me now I want to know
Where is this Place I should go
And why He came to earth below
To start His Love in my heart to grow
By this I know His Grace to show
As He Blood did freely flow

Up now it must be said
Though from a Cross He’s dead
Was to this truth His Father led
So the Cleansing Blood to shed
Lay Him in that gravely bed
Yet rose again to become the head

As so before your life has past
The time for words that will last
If upon Him your soul to cast
Not solved by feast or fast
In your heart these words thou hast
The time for words that will last

Tis the Dawn of a New Day

Tis the dawn of a new day
With things to be done
New thoughts to be thought
New races to run
Yesterday’s everything is now memories
Some in sorrow, some in fun

This new day is different
From the one before
We’ll walk a new path
We’ll open a new door
For nothing in yesterday can we change
It’s chapter is closed, alas evermore

Today I Said A Prayer

Today I wrote a letter and sent it to God

I told Him of my troubles and things gone wrong

Of how I needed more Grace from Him to stand

And how I could only sing a troublesome song

Today I made a call to the Throne of God

I dialed straight through by the Holy Ghost

I told Him I needed His Help immediately

And above all things I needed Him most

Today I sang a song into the air toward Heaven

Poured out my soul to the Great One above

A song of woe to me and sadness multiplied

Oh that He would speak to me His Voice of Love

Today I said a prayer and started it with thanks

Yes honor and glory and praise to Him alone

How He is more than enough for all I need

And quietly in a time of peace all my pain was gone

Today I Showed Love

What opportune time is this I face
To do a thing hard to do
For it was hard words spoken about
That was thrown at me by you

Now I’m at this place of decide
The choice to forgive and forget
For when to do good evil is near
As though this time has been set

Ah yes seventy times in a day
Is something that’s easily said
But proof comes forth from a heart
When your enemy is asking for bread

Stand now for a time such as this
Know just as He did forgive
Stand tall and give an account of your love
In all let your enemy live

So this I do because I have found
From One sent to us from above
When I’m feeding my enemy
I can say today I showed Love

Tonight

Tonight I took it upon myself to pray

Was easy because this I wanted to do

I needed to thank Him for all

And yes the time to say thanks for you

It was good this thing tonight I did

To take the time His Love to know

And yes with cascading waves I feel

You came to me by His Love to show

My heart to Him with flowing thanks

The place once dark now full of light

So many blessings given free to me

And yes I thanked Him for you tonight

Touch

Heart have you asked for help
There is one who will hear
Lie not there on a shelf broken
When Love itself is so near

Yes I see those pieces beside
As if were torn apart
Love will come when you call
Use your voice oh broken heart

I see that footprint of one
Trusted by you to be true
Hold fast to that which never fails
God's endless Love for you

Let that which He alone can do
He knows where each piece fell
So shattered as glass broken now
By His Spirit make all things well

Oh is better now I see you smile
With praise to your feet you stand
Honor and glory to Him who would
Touch a broken heart with His Hand

Trapped

I only came here for a visit
And now I find myself trapped
Is there no escape from this?
As around me this liquid is wrapped

I struggle so hard now to stay
Above so beneath I won’t drown
I’m tiring and becoming much weaker
As I feel my life going down

Surely those passing by can see me
My life in a desperate strait
With my lips I try to cry out
And this liquid keeps telling me wait

I’m learning to swim in this liquid
In a life I don’t want to choose
For hope is slipping beneath me
And it seems this battle I’ll lose

And now I hear of a story
Of one Jesus God’s Son
As told by one who would love me
Until this battle is won

For tho’ I’m trapped in a bottle
His love shines down in this place
To lift me out of this bottle
And save because of His Grace

Trembling and Fear

Walk a mile where before has been walked
Shout a shout came forth from another
Sing a song from other mouth springs
Use a word meant for your brother

But yet to stand for one's self
And sing what's in your own heart
Beginning today to speak for yourself
On your own with Him to start

Do what's yours for Him did call
And prove your own work again
Walk to the place that He sends
He'll lead where He's already been

Have peace within your heart
When you make your calling sure
And talk with Him alone
His yoke is easy to endure

Yes let each prove His own work
Before a Loving God so dear
For it is He who called us all
To learn with trembling and fear

Truly

He called softly again my name
Why should I turn from this way
I am enjoying the life I've made
I do my own will day after day

My plans are working just fine
I see no need in my life for Him
Just something else to concern myself
But yet I can see the lights grow dim

I have chosen not to follow that call
It all seems so useless to me
I can do it my own way
So why can't He just see

Now as sorrow takes hold of my soul
And I turn to those things I know
Searching for help and for friends
Until I find there's no place to go

Again I hear my name called so softly
Could He still love me I said
After the awful things I've done
And my life now as good as dead

I asked can I know as I am known
Am I a whosever will be free
Then Blood washing over my soul
I found that He truly loved me

Truly the Day

She said she now had hope in her life. He had done something in her life no one else could have thought of, much less have accomplished.

Where did that peace come from she had asked herself at first? How could she be this calm with everything that had happened? Was it just simple words that were spoken into her heart? She would think not, because these words spoken had brought with them a calm assurance that everything was going to be fine.

She gave a small chuckle as she rose from the chair and headed for the bathroom. “Well a shower and off shopping, I think I’ll buy myself a new dress. I’ll call my sister Mary and see if she wants to go.”

“Truly this is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Good parting words she thought.

Twinkle and Glow

Twinkle little eyes from what you see

For truly is God that watches over me

Making His Angels dance with glee

This my eyes know in Thee

Glow little eyes from the Love He gave

Yes all the children His Life to save

In everything my life to be brave

For His Love my little eyes crave

Twinkle little heart and cause to love

Gift sent from Our Father above

Peacefully settle my mind like a dove

Yes little heart cause me to love

Glow little heart for time He does lend

For is precious that God does send

Knowing in time all He will mend

Glow because He is your friend

Yes eyes and heart twinkle and glow

From the Love my Savior did show

Resting in Him His Love to know

Yes eyes and heart twinkle and glow

Two Sides of the Bridge

Ah,but why should I cross over
Was not I that caused this divide
For sure this is all I can say
Yes this cloud of innocence stands between
Not I, not I, this I can safely say
This bridge is for them to cross
Who built this bridge I might ask
Would the answer come for me
If so, where would it take should it come
Yes it stands over rough waters
And I just can't see the way across
This cloud of blame is for another
Will Love surely show right
And did! When slowly lifts the cloud
Now I can see this bridge from both sides
I know I can cross over
This bridge I walk upon to go over
Yes from either side to find peace
Let I be the one led by Love
Now as I start over
I see one coming from the other side
