Waiting for the Springtime
|
|
|
In my heart I await for the springtime that the roses of His love may bloom again
To feel the fresh rain of his Holy Spirit once again
Because I know He is God I will wait patiently for I remember His love for me
Let not my heart wander from your throne that I might lay my head upon your feet
For I have tasted of eternal life and it remains ever upon the lips of my praise
I have believed therefore I have seen therefore I believe
Hope starts with Him and ends in eternity
A life made complete by faith and finished with love
Yes it is true what the Bible says
I cannot deny that which has overcome me and for which I am thankful and yielding
If you feel what I feel then you know why I wait for the spring

Waiting for Those Whispered Words
|
|
|
Listen to me I heard him say
The path of life is sure
For the sickness of your sin
The Blood of Christ is the Cure
Now to live a life my own
My father’s words I hear
When my life is in doubt
His words ring loud and clear
My son in all your days
Hold fast to what is right
They will hold you up in life
And see you through the night
How often now I love to think
Those times spent with my dad
He taught me wisely about the Lord
For this I’m always glad
Now I find when things go wrong
I know just what to do
Waiting for those whispered words
Me and Jesus both love you

Was Done
|
|
|
What thought to be impossible
Oh but too much to be done
Was said how can it be
Too much a battle for just one
Can this man stand by self
No should one be found
Let us search again to see
Will in time He come around
No for me I can’t do
Nor can yet any know
To find one self in bitter tear
For lost man nowhere to go
But what man could never do
Was found by God to send us one
Not one better to confess
So He gave His Only Son
Yes not possible with man
For to us His Love He gave
On a Cross-surrender all
His Shed Blood man’s life to save

Waters
|
|
|
Why can’t these waters move? They refuse to flow and allow the vessels to continue down and bring the good things they carry.
What shall I do to cause these waters to flow again?
I shall look and see the cause of these things that bring sadness because the waters can’t flow.
I look to Him for help so I can see inside, and those things that do not belong I must allow Him to remove so the waters can flow again. I do not have the strength to move these burdens that block the waters of my soul. Yet I know one who can and will. He is the One who sends these vessels upon the waters that bring good things to my soul. I will cast these cares upon Him for He cares for my soul, and then shall these waters flow again.

We'll Remember When
|
|
|
Once again to gather with friends
In earlier days we did share
In the old school we spent our time
And built on our memories there
Yes to see a face from before
A smile one could never forget
And only to go back to those days
In the halls where once we met
A stolen kiss behind a locker door
A blush from a mischievous wink
And now to see our youth once more
Like a dream to cause us to think
But there are shadows in these halls
As if someone would suddenly appear
And yet we know only memories remain
Of those we once held so dear
All is not lost, I’ll think of a time
When last I saw you back then
And looking back just talking to you
And even now, we’ll remember when

What Color is Love
|
|
|
She asked her father, "what color is love"
For so long I've wanted to know
It seems to be different for everyone
No matter where I go
He searched his heart for an answer true
In words the child understood
So he summoned a prayer for wisdom from God
And then he knew that he could
He said my child the color of love
Is what a person's eyes see
No matter who you look upon
That's what color love can be
Love does not change from place to place
But what is in one's heart
May not always show the color of love
And keep our lives apart
For there is no difference in what God saw
When He sent His Son from above
For each and every person you see
Is a part of God's rainbow of love

What Does Death Taste Like
|
|
|
If I were to place it on my tongue, would it be bitter?
Is there something that can change the thing that haunts man and follows after him?
It never sleeps, but watches silently, seeking a place to strike, like a stalker searching out its victim.
Yet it watches all at once, seeking that opportunity to remove life and hope from a soul.
Man does not know its time, but is aware of its presence.
It is anxious to sting its victim and place the shattered pieces in the grave.
But I have taken something into my soul that is like a strong medicine.
It brought a soothing sensation to my life.
It put a sweet taste, like honey, in my mouth.
This word I have from the mouth of God laughs and says; grave where is thy victory, death where is thy sting?
I answer Christ took them away for me.

What Does the Wind Do
|
|
|
Is there a purpose in the wind
And all the things it does
To move the sand to a different place
To everywhere it goes
The leaves and grass it does command
To show that it is strong
If it does not blow today
Is there something wrong?
Sometimes it seems so angry
To blow with such great force
To bend the trees in half
And change the waters’ course
And then it seems so gentle
On a hot summery day
When it goes softly through the meadows
As if it wants to play
It is so strange to understand
This thing we call the wind
Could we come to know its’ ways
Is there a message it could send
Is the wind so different than I
Can its feelings we might share
Is there a place in life for it
Does this wind really care
Do we share the same feelings
Is there something in the wind for you
So I ask myself this question
What does the wind do?

What He Left Behind
|
|
|
For the times we thought upon
The fact that he was gone
It seems as though he went away
And left us all alone
I knew we had each other
But still he was a part
Was his life replaced with sorrow?
With what we felt in our heart
Things now were not the same
Hid voice and laughter spent
No longer heard in this home
And all to us it meant
But now I find a voice that speaks
He’s around to say to me
Today, forever, always
I’m in your memory
Our Father speaks from up above
In a voice so gentle and kind
The most important thing of all
Is what he left behind
|
|
What He's Done for You
|
|
|
Is there a voice that can be heard
One to speak for Him
Who'll cry to a world in need
As the light of time grows dim
One to stand when a fire does burn
Or darkness closes in
Who will be counted as faithful
In a place full of sin
Make straight your paths for the Lord
Time for return at hand
Soon to be His children leave
And be in His Eternal Land
Hold your hand high if you will be
Then He will lift your head
Bring you to a place of peace
When life's story is read
And now this question last
Will you say I do
Seems the least one could say
For what He's done for you

What I Saw Then
|
|
|
As a child watching the clouds, I could see many different things; an animal, a tree, an angel, or even the face of a man. And with each movement of the cloud it would take my mind to a different place, to see a new thing. Once to see a glorious mountaintop change to a valley by the blowing of the winds.
And even yet now in my life, I have felt and seen these same winds of change. It's not just in my size and shape or in the way my body feels; but; in the way I see the clouds in other people's lives.
Whereas then I saw people I liked or did not like; or, even shared moments of hate. In seeing things as; "that's their problem"; and, "they did it to themselves". And truly feeling that I was the most important thing in my life.
But since I met You, I see people that You are working on and trying to shape their lives; people who need Your hope. And yes I see hope for all people in Your Son Jesus.
Your Holy Spirit was the wind that blew the change in my life. And what I see now is not what I saw then.

What Shall I Keep of Memories
|
|
|
Our life is full of memories
Of days and things gone by
Of all the good and bad
That made us laugh and cry
Remembering to us can be
A thing we wish to forget
A thing in life that us pain
A word we truly regret
For all that we say or do
Can become a memory
So let us carefully choose our ways
A memory someday they’ll be
And if to follow good
We search into the night
In times of doubt and sorrow
Our memories bring us light
And if in all our days
We’re all that we can be
We won’t ask ourselves this question
What shall I keep of memories?
|

What Would They Say of Me
|
|
|
If I could count my days in life
And weigh them everyone
To see which way the scales would tip
To see all I had done
Would the good outweigh the bad
Have I shown love to everyone
Could I change something’s I said
Not left a task undone
I’ll try and take the time to see
What’s truly in my heart
Perhaps what I would find within
Would tear my life apart
Again it might be what I need
To feel good about myself
And make my life better yet
And not keep it on a shelf
I’m sure there’s good that I can find
That can brighten up my day
So I can share the love I have
With someone along the way
The question that’s upon my mind
Is what people really see
And when all my years have passed
What would they say of me
|
|
What You Did
|
|
|
Try as I may to understand
How His Love found room for me
Sometimes it’s more than words can tell
The proof hanging on a tree
Yet going beyond forgiveness of sins
And all that I'll ever do
You raised my Savior up from the grave
And I owe my life to you
A Father beyond what man can attain
Try as though we may
To be a little like you
While walking this path everyday
Its You to who all honor belongs
For was you who love all men
You took Him back to Heaven with you
And then you'll send Him again
I'm proud beyond words to be Your son
In this I'll tell all I see
I have eternal life in my soul
Because of what you did for me

What!!!
|
|
|
A rat, a hat and a bat
Got up from the place where they sat
Said we should do this or that
So we want be getting so fat
Was heard by a coon, a spoon and the moon
Saying we must write a new tune
While riding a hot-air balloon
And this we must do soon
So the frog, the hog and the log
Said let's go find us a dog
To help us get out of this fog
So we won't get stuck in the bog
Oh my cried the ants, the pants and the elephants
We know we just can't take a chance
But maybe we'll try a new dance
And then they'll give us a glance
So the person that wrote these lines
Has really lost his minds
But he'll search till he finds
The place he put those pork rinds

When a Heart Breaks
|
|
|
I can’t find the words to say
That someone would understand
It is a pain with abiding strength
To destroy the heart of a man
It can’t be seen with the naked eye
Except for what’s seen without
It works upon a mind and soul
To bring death beyond a doubt
Destroying peace and hope and joy
As a raging flood it goes
Taking with it all the good in life
To a place no one knows
Except the one who has the pain
Its’ knowledge can’t be found
No great words of wisdom said
Through all this pain abounds
Then the Spirit of a mighty God
Does what can’t be done
Puts back the pieces when a heart breaks
By the love of Jesus His Son

When an Angel Cries
|
|
|
Oh meet me near the Christmas tree
I'll share some moments with you
Of days gone by and times to come
And hope for things we can do
This tree so arrayed with glitter and bulbs
Stands tall with green arms so spry
And shines on through this season of cheer
Will show what makes angels cry
Beneath all this glowing array
Are packages one, two, and three
For each and every happy heart
Sheltered gracefully by this tree
But no is not true for every tree
That perhaps will just stand alone
With a father who looks on with sad eyes
At no gifts for each and every one
Tho' the greatest gift was given by God
And still beneath the tree lies
If not opened by those gathered there
That's when an angel cries

When He
|
|
|
Was born became man.
Was a child became subject to His parents
Taught in the synagogue became a teacher.
Was baptized became Spirit Man.
Spoke repentance became a preacher
Turned the water into wine became a miracle worker.
Opened blind eyes became a healer.
Told about the future became a prophet.
Hung on the cross became a Savior.
Rose from the grave became a conqueror.
Ascended to Heaven became King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Returns He will become all in all.

When I 1
|
|
|
When I step upon a leaf
That lies upon the ground
And hear it crackling beneath my feet
I know that familiar sound
When I feel the morning sun
Setting softly on my face
And bring its’ warmth upon my skin
I know its abiding place
When I feel a cool spring breeze
Blowing lazily through my hair
And as it walks quietly on
I know that you are there
When I see the lilies adorned
With such beauty I behold
And watch them stand graciously tall
I know it’s all you hold
When I see a little child
Laughing with a gleam in their eye
In all these things I see you Lord
I know you’re there, when I
|
|
When I 2
|
|
|
When I feel the sorrow
For loved ones gone before
And know their times have passed
They’re in peace forevermore
When I see a broken heart
That cries for healing wings
To fly it to a place of rest
I know you’re in these things
When I hear the storms of life
Roaring loudly with a boast
And yet in this there is a calm
I know I love you most
When I doubt why life exists
No reason can find a place
And assurance always comes
I know I can see your face
When I come to that final word
That’s said before I die
I can look across that shore
I know you are Lord of all, when I

When I Say I Love You 1
|
|
|
You thought that it was only words
You’d heard them all before
So what was so different now
It mattered not to hear them anymore
Maybe it was something to say
When parting time had come
Or even on a wedding day
And the ceremony was done
How freely now it can be said
Its’ meaning has been changed
The phrase we so carelessly use
In words so disarranged
But this one thing I know is sure
For the proof He showed is real
So when He speaks these three words
It’s something you can feel
To give His life a gift for man
Was all that He could do
So you know when He says
The words ring out true
I speak for Him and myself
When I say I love you
|
|
When I Say I Love You 2
|
|
|
Did I need time to think before I said those words that were important?
Was there hesitation in my voice as something my heart was trying to say came forth?
Is there treasure not yet revealed that I can find in saying these words?
Is it something just to be said or a flow from my heart to yours?
All these questions that I ponder to find truth about myself, for it is my heart that speaks.
And once to prove that it is true, then it will prove itself again and again.
So I need not be careful when I say I love you.

When I See Him
|
|
|
Not such a strange thing to me
But was a sight for all
The day I remember well
When I listened to that call
Others may not have heard
But this I know for sure
For the sickness in my heart
He proved to be the cure
I told it once and then again
Again and again and again
And once more to all
He died for our sin
As they say the matter closed
Nothing left to be said
He left the grave to live again
Once for sin was dead
What a friend and a lily
Bright and morning star
Great I Am and Resurrection
Who loves you as you are
And on and on and on
Not enough words to say
But I will say it all
When I see Him on that day
|
|
When I See
|
|
|
Oh it was not as though I thought
How is it different now than before?
What changed that I don’t know
I must, I must find out more
To learn those things I don’t know
This work done by God’s Hands
To change without changing
Those circumstance demands
I know it will turn to me
And come swiftly to my mind
The secret He will share
And to my heart bind
This thing He brought to earth
Such a simple explanation
That brings hope to fallen man
And gives life destination
So not those change but I
What His Love did to me
Understand unfold my mind
The change when I see

When They All Said Yes
|
|
|
Could it have been a day chosen by all
Their ears had heard the right word
It had traveled through the channels of their mind
It had entered their heart as with a sword
So tender a life to be sought out
An almost whisper of a word of peace
Though yet its’ sound were as a trumpet
That with a flow would put you at ease
And it slowly came forth like a shout
With as were tears being shed
To a place in life searched out
And finally forth they were led
It was not in desperation by all
Or even an unpondered guess
But yet not all His glory came in death
It was when they all said yes

When Time is Gone
|
|
|
When time is gone shall it return
To replace a thing before
Can yet it show to those who’ve used
Another open door
To explore those things of yesterday
With thoughts from day anew
And make a better tomorrow
Those things we’ve learned to do
Or perhaps only meditate
And say what’s done is done
There’s no need to change a word
Once time passes setting sun
Oh now to hear the call he gave
From oh so long ago
Forget the time already past
For your ending time don’t know
Choose today while time is now
To accept God’s Holy Son
And know when time is no more
A life-crown you have won

When Words Fail
|
|
|
A laugh, a smile, a joke, a song
What else could one say
To bring the soul to a resting place
To challenge the worst of days
Was it a word that passed through time
To shatter a world of dreams
A stone thrown sharply from a hand
To ripple across calm streams
I’ll still believe with all my heart
That men with scattered speech
Shall never attain the truth in life
A truth they’ll never reach
For when the words of life have failed
To open blinded eyes
And action begins to take their place
Will it yet make men so wise
It’s a sad place that men shall find
When preaching comes to an end
When words fail to turn their ways
Then Gods’ wrath He’ll send
|

When Work is Done
|
|
|
Hold we while I quietly shed this sorrow
Keep Your Loving Arms around my heart
Cover my pain with the comfort of hope
Give this blessing that to others I might impart
When I shall know Your Boundless Love
And peace that passes all understanding
Even as my soul shall reach to You
To meet these needs my life demanding
Come quickly while I pray today
Yes a present help in time of need
A strong and mighty tower for man
The giver of faith's mustard seed
As now I rise to face each day
My steps wait for your call
To lay them out before me now
By which I follow not to fall
And when I lay me down to sleep
Keep my soul til morning sun
That I can cross into your rest
When my work down here is done
|
|
Where Does the Blood Go
|
|
|
The heart I saw seemed empty
There was no blood to make it beat
It seemed so cold and still
No life in it I saw at all
And I wondered at the heart
That seemed to be by itself
What had it known in its’ days?
Surely it had triumphs and happy times
Who did it belong to?
Could it be someone I had known
And yet not have seen their heart
This heart is so different
As it is not made of flesh
It must be that part that belongs to the spirit
I will go now and pray
For the Blood that came from Jesus’ veins
To bring life to this heart
And watch it flow and pump
And be happy again
Yes, this is the only answer I can find
That I might help this heart I see
If it can’t be used to bring life to a heart
Then where does the Blood go
|
|
Where You Are
|
|
|
It is not that much further I said
This desert shall not conquer me
I have water that I can drink
That flowed down from a tree
I can clearly see the mountain top
This gives me hope to walk on
Yes shedding sin and doubt and fear
Trusting Him until all is gone
Leading me to pastures green
Where I one day will take my rest
And from this valley walk away
Knowing I stood through the test
More than lay me down to sleep
Or twinkle, twinkle little star
Yes one day to lay to rest
Then I shall be where you are
|
|
Where You Can Bless
|
|
|
Climbing ever softly to a place
Of sweet caress
Searching deeper yet to find a place
Where you bless
For all I found in my heart a place
That I should confess
To remove this burden to another place
I must address
So now do my tears have a place?
Where there’s nothing less
Can I search until I find such a place?
Your answer is yes
To put on these clothes there is a place
My life to be blessed
Then finally to arrive in a place
Where you can bless
|
|
Will to His Will
|
|
|
Life raised its head to say
Here, I am for you waiting
Yes with that sigh of old
Were words my soul anticipating
My desire to be for once
What Love said I could be
Yet for blindness caused by self
I Am I could not see
But Grace that it would be
My need my life to fill
To carry cares and burdens for me
Throughout my life until
I can stand because He bowed
In a garden alone to pray
And accept for me my life to die
On a hill called Calvary that day
For this one thing I will accept
A will to know His Will
And each and every day in life
To follow Him until
