Weeping Willow

Oh weeping willow come cover me
Our lives may be as one
This sadness in the days I’ve known
And hope for setting sun

As you at times seem gracefully
To bow before the wind
And yet stand tall in heat of day
Though your limbs may bend

So help me now I ask of you
That I may learn your way
For long as we both shall weep
Beneath your bowing wings I’ll stay

Oh weeping willow now I know
That God made you for me
To show me I can stand
These things I plainly see

Now I am in storms of life
Standing tall I can be
His Word come in light of day
Through the weeping willow tree

Where I Stand

I prayed each day for a good thing

God heard, truly He heard I said

For the One I call upon now

Is the giver of my daily bread

When gives when none other can

Not even I for myself like Him

The Giver of Life to all who call

Though the lights of time are dim

Praise, praise are the voices I hear

And for Him alone they all cried

None could stop the Words from flowing

No power though hard they tried

Lifter higher now as best you can

Your cries have reached His Ears

His eyes have seen in troubled nights

When your pillow you covered with tears

Look up now child of Royal King

And say with faith behold the Lamb

And stand beneath the Fountain of Blood

From the Hand of the Great I Am

Whisper

Whisper tell me you love me
This I need to know
Should I cross over with fear
When to my long home I go

Whisper tell me you love me
Is more than sufficient to me
To see me through this life
And take me across death’s troubled sea

Whisper tell me you love me
I’ll hear no matter how low
Yes these Words spoken by you
Is all I need to know

Whisper tell me you love me
This one thing I ask to hear
Will make this life worth living
Knowing that you’re ever near

Whisper tell me you love me
I’ll know just what to do
Whisper tell me you love me
And I’ll shout I love you too

Who Spilled the Milk

Through the house our mother came
While in her gown of silk
She screamed aloud; "Ya'll come here to me
And tell me, who spilled the milk

We all stared confusedly
At the liquid on the silk
Again she screamed at all of us
"Who spilled the milk"

We gazed around at ourselves
To confess no one was led
She gave us a stern look
Who spilled the milk I said

I'll tear your hides from limb to limb
For I fell upon the floor
With sharpened tongue ablaze now
Who spilled the milk, once more

Old rover came crawling in
Sad tears were in his eyes
"Who spilled the milk you asked
I'm sorry it was I"

Who Told You I Was Angry With You

Why would you hide from me
Is there something I have done
To cause you to run away
From what we had begun

I thought you were in love with me
The way I loved you true
To send for you my only Son
To give you life anew

Perhaps it is what you have done
To cause you to up and leave
And then perhaps be told by some
No hope for you deceive

So tell ne mow I have not changed
Who told you I was angry with you
And lied about the way I am
And what that I would do

To me confess I am the same
As I was yesterday
My mercy endures forever
I’ll forgive you still today

Who Will I Pick Today

I decided when I awoke
Today I’d be someone’s friend
I’ll write the words to a poem
And to them I will send

I’ll tell what they mean to me
For all my heart can find
I’ll tell them tho they’re not near
They are in my mind

I’ll say how I’ve prayed today
That God would surely bless
Their life with peace and hope in Him
And settle for nothing less

I’ll say though I may never see
Their smile face to face
That one-day on Heaven’s shore
We stand there to embrace

So who will I pick today
To tell what I will do
Yes you guessed exactly right
The one I picked was you

Wind That Flows

Like the wind it shall blow
Though not seen yet evidence is there
Proof of its existence be
Not as one who walks without care

Alas by proof is what we show
Results it brings to those it would touch
And continue on to return again
Finding ways to do this much

Does it blow for one alone
Or kept in a bottle by pride
Should not this wind blow so free
From heart to heart ride

Yes a heart once blown upon
By the breath of God to feel
And carried to that Place called Love
Before His Throne to kneel

Open your arms and allow this wind
Within your life now to blow
Be a vessel for His Spirit’s wind
God’s Love through you will flow

Window Pain

I know this will pass, this feeling
I look and know you will return
But til that what can replace
This fire within me burn

You walk away to your future
Your hope and dreams depend
No longer on mine only
Go forth your own you send

Ah, but to trust the Hand of God
To keep you in His Place
And return again that feeling
When I see you face to face

A child of years spent happily
Now replaced by years your own
But captured safely in my mind
Still my child though you are grown

And glancing as you slowly turn
As this feeling falls like rain
I see you raise your hand goodbye
Looking through my window pain

Wings of Love

Have I wings that I should fly
Or is it I just feel as such
Oh days of gladness in His Wind
And know I have felt His Touch
For it shall calm without reserve
For this I shall ask for much

Have I hope that I should stand
Though the storm is strong
And yes to linger still
Though it rages long
Yes to have such faith in Him
That one could not go wrong

So to His Place I shall fly
On Wings of Love to lay
In His Shadow I shall stand
Until the break of day
Then to step upon His Shore
With God’s Lamb forever stay

Wisdom and Will

Where is this wisdom that I spoke of
Has it gone to someone new
Now that I need it the most
To search is what I must do

Oh senseless refrain is my thoughts
When captured from worldly word
For truly this wisdom I speak of
Comes only from Our Lord

I can't find the right to say
When my mind is drifting away
Oh please come back to me
I need God's wisdom today

I read again if any lack
Then ask Him while you pray
And freely give to who would believe
And that without delay

So what does stop this wisdom sought
Come quickly to my side
I find my will is in the way
In His I must abide

So now to the garden I go
To find what Jesus did find
Upon my knees to accept His Will
And wisdom for my mind

Within His Spirit's Fire

How far now as a child I’d ask

Not as long as it has been

Yet even grown I question God

To be freed from this body of sin

Another day has brought its time

Of test and trouble I see

Longing now for His Loving Arms

And there forever be

Take my soul and let it rest

In the bosom of my King

Where my heart with joyful noise

And then His praises sing

It shall remain this heart’s desire

For this alone I need

Draw close to His Will obey

My soul His Spirit feed

My time to bow forever be

The place my heart’s desire

In my lifetime walking on

Within His Spirit’s Fire

Wonderment of the Leaf

How hard does a leaf hit
When it slowly falls to the ground
Does it feel like pain
Does it know it’s down?

Does it have a choice?
When the wind blows it around
When it is stepped upon
Does it make a sound?

Does it end it’s life
When it breaks away
From the source that bore
On inception day

I would like to think
That the leaf knew love
Cradled on the branch
Before it fell from above

Surely the leaf still lives
In a different form
Never again to face
Life’s cold killing storm

Words Can't Tell

How could I say what I feel
It was yet another day passed by
I had not heard your voice
I could not do but sigh

The years are moving faster now
As life takes us along
To different paths along this way
Yet what’s in my life is still strong

We shared so many things to see
And walked in steps together
I wanted but the best for you
And hoped all things the better

The times around a table shared
The years, the talk, the smiles
I dream to bring them back again
It seems for just a while

The flow within our veins the same
The love always compel
For what a family brings to us
I know that words can’t tell

Words I Love

What would the letters say to Him
How could I put them in place
To form the words I want to say
About the love I embrace

Should it be words yet said
By some in another time
Cried loud upon a mountaintop
Or sliding down a deep incline

Will I tumble the words around
To be what comes by chance
And hope yet still for better or worse
Or produce a beautiful dance

Will I ever know just how to say
Words I would like to share
With a God on high who gives us grace
To attempt this would I dare

I.O.U., I praise You, I adore You
Can this truly tell of
The feeling I know lives inside
I love to the Great God above

Words That Stay

There was something in the words I read
As if spoken only to me
I had read these words and heard before
But there was something different to see

Why was this time they looked at me
As if to say, "come here"
No matter where I turned my head
These words were still as clear

And tho’ I tried to push away
As if they were not true
I found them saying again and again
These words were written for you

I finally came to forget my life
And all the things I'd done
My past would be cast away
And I could face the Son

These words refused to let me go
For God so loved me
His Son who died and rose again
The Spirit that set me free

Worth Saving

If you had something in this life
That meant a lot to you
If you thought you had lost it
Would you do call you could do

To search in every corner
To talk to all your friends
Please help me to find my treasure
My life is at an end

Let’s search the whole world over
Let’s climb the highest hill
If you truly are a friend of mine
I know you surely will

And even hope is dark
And it seems that it is lost
We’ll pay the price to find it
No matter what the cost

We’ll spend endless nights upon our knees
Searching through life’s rooms
Hoping that it won’t be long
We’ll find this treasure soon

We’ll light all the streets at night
We’ll ring the chapel bells
We’ll hire a crier in the streets
We’ll make all the ships set sail

And when we find this treasure
We thought that we had lost
We’ll know for sure beyond a doubt
It was well worth the cost

And when all is said and done
And a new road we start paving
We’ll smile a smile for we will know
This treasure was worth saving

Would Someone Talk to Me

I wondered what was in her mind
As she sat staring at the crowd
They laughed and joked about themselves
Sometimes they'd get so loud

One would talk about a trip
And all the fun they'd had
The things that they had done
But still she looked so sad

Another talked of going home
And being with their friends
Of school, of play, of teachers
Their conversation had no end

She'd try to interrupt them
As if something she had to add
But when they would ignore her
Again she'd look so sad

As i sat wondering at the child
The truth I began to see
What the little deaf girl was trying to say
Would someone talk to me?

Write

I want to write a love song, And show it to you

I want to make you smile, Your heart change new

I look in my mind, With diligence and care

I’m hoping in hope, The words will be there

I search from a friend, If surely would know

These words I should speak, But only find no

I ask a stranger, I never did see

I can’t tell you, His reply came to me

A voice softly spoke, With clear of sound

Look to yourself child, In your heart will be found

Now to this best of place, I carefully look

There to find enough words, Would fill a book

Now write this Love song, And this I will do

These simplest of Words, In I Love You
